Unveiled: Ambitious Blueprint for 516-Unit Residential Tower Unfolds at Starlite Location in Brickell

Exciting plans have recently surfaced as a residential tower project sets its sights on the former Starlite Motel location in the vibrant neighborhood of Brickell. The acquisition of this prime property by Chicago-based Focus in November 2022 for $28 million has paved the way for visionary development.

Tim Anderson, CEO and Founder of Focus, shared his enthusiasm for the project: “Miami’s lively urban hubs, offering walkable cores and a dynamic atmosphere, align perfectly with our mission.” The completion of demolition at the site earlier this year marked a significant milestone, and the property has now gained approval to be included within Miami-Dade’s Rapid Transit Zoning area, enabling higher-density construction.

August 4 saw a pre-application submission to Miami-Dade planners outlining the blueprint for the upcoming structure. The proposed tower aims to ascend to an impressive 39 stories, reaching 425 feet. Notable features of the development include:

• A total of 516 residential units.
• Ground-floor retail spaces.
• An office designated for “leasing/management” functions
• Indoor and outdoor amenity areas on both the 8th and 39th levels
• A rooftop space for residents to enjoy.
• A six-level garage with a capacity for 506 parking spaces.
• The garage’s exterior will be adorned with a perforated metal-panel system on three sides, while the east elevation facing an adjacent garage will feature stucco.
• The esteemed architectural firm Gensler is at the helm of the design process.
